How Oklahoma contract deadlines are counted
Earnest money is due 3 days after the contract is fully signed and is the only deadline that moves for weekends or legal holidays. Inspection, financing and review periods count from the Time Reference Date, which defaults to the 3rd day after the last signature; the day after it is day 1.
- Standard form
- Oklahoma Real Estate Commission Uniform Contract of Sale – Residential (01-01-2026)
- Day zero
- Contract fully signed (earnest money) / Time Reference Date (other periods)
- Holidays used
- only the major holidays every state observes, so a date can come out earlier than your contract allows, never later
- Weekends and holidays
- Under the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission Uniform Contract of Sale – Residential, deadlines generally do not move when they land on a weekend or holiday. The exception: earnest money delivered, which moves to the next business day.
- How sure we are
- Checked against the form text (version noted). Still confirm against the version you signed.
