How Massachusetts contract deadlines are counted
Massachusetts deadlines are usually written as dates. In the #501 form, mortgage and inspection termination notices are due by 5:00 p.m. on the calendar day after the stated date. By statute, a contract deadline on a Sunday or legal holiday may be met the next business day (Saturdays are not covered), unless the contract says otherwise.
