How California contract deadlines are counted
Calendar days from the day after Acceptance, ending 11:59 p.m. Any deadline, including close of escrow, that lands on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday moves to the next business day. We apply that using only the major holidays every state observes, so a date can show a day earlier than California’s full holiday list would allow, never later. The C.A.R. form was revised in December 2025; confirm the defaults against the version you signed.
